My Idea for a Poem

Poems are written to compliment a pretty face,
Full of wit, spice and fancy lace.
They sing out with meter and with rhyme,
How beautiful they are, forever in time.

I would write of this,
But others do it better.
Love may light a golden wing,
To fly to heaven and take sing.
But eloquence is not mine,
And my rough words seem to do just fine.

Trying to copy what my brain did save,
Make's the Masters groan and turn in grave.

So accept my foolish graces,
And compliments of pretty faces.
I am inspired by yours today,
May it last, may it stay.
A friendship before love.

But I've said enough.
I'll end it short with a wit
Stay with me and talk a bit.
